Join our University’s Server and Storage Team and play an active role in our transition to native AWS cloud services. As the university embarks on its cloud migration journey, your involvement with cloud operations will grow. Our team has the critical task of managing both the university’s data centers and its cloud infrastructure. We seek a proficient technician with strong time management skills who thrives on independent work and project-based initiatives without the need for close supervision. A keen interest in and willingness to learn cloud technologies are essential for this role. While we are moving towards cloud-based solutions, we will continue to oversee our on-premise server operations in the immediate and foreseeable future. The candidate who joins us will fill the role previously held by a Windows system administrator and should possess comparable competencies.

**The Ideal Candidate:**

We are initiating our foray into adopting a native AWS cloud framework. Prior cloud experience is a plus, yet we are dedicated to training and enhancing the skill set of our team members in cloud platforms. This position is an excellent opportunity for those aiming to develop expertise in cloud technology and engage in operational activities.

The successful individual will be adept at working autonomously and within project teams. Strong communication skills are fundamental as you will be liaising with various service owners across the university.

While the job description enumerates a range of desired abilities, proficiency in Windows and Cloud technologies will be particularly pertinent for this position. An understanding of data center management, hardware, automation, and VMWare is beneficial.
