**Position Overview**

Join our Server and Storage group at the University, where your responsibilities will shift increasingly towards cloud-based tasks as we embark on our AWS migration journey. We maintain both the physical data centers and our growing cloud infrastructure, and we’re on the lookout for a capable technician to work autonomously, driving forward projects without the need for close oversight. A keen interest in cloud technology and the willingness to train in this area are essential for this role. Concurrently, you will be tasked with managing our on-premise server setups in both the immediate and foreseeable future. The new team member will fill the shoes of a former Windows systems administrator and should come equipped with comparable or appropriate expertise. Details on the full scope of responsibilities can be found in the job description provided.

**Candidate Profile**

As we pivot towards a native AWS cloud setup, we are eager to find an individual who is ready to deepen their cloud knowledge—experience is a plus, but not a prerequisite, as we are dedicated to developing the cloud expertise of our personnel. The role is particularly suitable for someone eager to accrue operational cloud experience. The right candidate will be seasoned in working both independently and collaboratively on various projects and possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with service stakeholders university-wide. While the job description encompasses a range of technical proficiencies, proficiency in Windows and Cloud technologies are fundamental to this role, with added merit for knowledge of data centers, hardware, automation, and VMWare.

**Departmental Vision**

Engage in cutting-edge digital technology endeavors as a part of our Information and Technology Services team. It’s our mission to deliver and maintain advanced digital solutions to empower students, faculty, and staff in their academic, research, and administrative pursuits. Our aim includes driving innovation, implementing impactful digital services, and providing steadfast support to enrich the digital experience throughout our academic community. Your role also contributes to the University’s sustainability objectives and aligns with our shared ethos of exemplary customer service and continuous enhancement.
