IHI’s mission is to lead high-quality, data-intensive research aimed at enhancing health outcomes on local, national, and international fronts. About the Role

The Institute of Health Informatics seeks a Senior Software Developer to join our dynamic and welcoming team. This role offers a rare opportunity to collaborate with seasoned health data scientists, informaticians, statisticians, and clinical epidemiologists. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in statistical analysis and the presentation of findings derived from large-scale national and rich local health record data resources. Responsibilities include working alongside other developers to integrate new features into the CogStack NLP platform and assisting with the deployment of CogStack tools on UCLH servers.

The position is funded until 31 July 2027, with potential for further funding.

About You

We seek a motivated full-stack developer with a keen interest in creating scalable web applications. The ideal candidate should either possess experience with or be eager to learn front-end libraries such as Vue.js or React. Strong programming skills in Python, specifically with RESTful libraries like Flask and FastAPI, are essential. Knowledge of database languages, including SQL and Elasticsearch, is also required. Experience with front-end visualization tools such as D3.js and Streamlit is highly desirable.

A relevant degree and experience with containerization technologies such as Docker are essential. Strong skills in database languages, particularly SQL and Elasticsearch, are expected.
