Service Overview: Student Services

The Student Services Directorate plays a vital role in supporting student wellness, addressing individual needs, assisting students in crisis, fostering retention, and enriching the student experience through residential life and extracurricular activities. Partnering with academic schools and professional services teams, we aim to establish an extensive support network that enhances student success throughout their academic journey.

Led by the Assistant Chief Operating Officer (Health Gain & Student Experience), the Directorate encompasses several teams, including:

  • Student HUB
  • Student Conduct
  • Academic Tutoring
  • Residential Life
  • Student Disability and Dyslexia Services
  • Student Life
  • Student Projects and Campaigns
  • Student Money Advice and Rights Team
  • Student Engagement, Retention, and Success
  • Student Wellbeing Services

About the Role

In this role, you’ll take the lead in designing, developing, and implementing applications and systems that improve workflows and drive automation across various departments. Collaborating closely with teams and IT, you’ll identify opportunities for system updates and create solutions that enhance operations and optimize service delivery. Your work may also involve leveraging data insights to inform proactive interventions for students at risk due to welfare or withdrawal concerns.

This position involves improving data quality across the Student Services Directorate, ensuring timely and resource-efficient data management. By enhancing the evaluation of departmental impact and contributing to institutional and service KPI reporting, you’ll play a key role in driving the success of both students and the organization.
