About the Role
Your Opportunity to Be at the Core of Innovation
Reporting directly to the IT Manager, you will play a key role in managing and optimising a diverse portfolio of on-premises and cloud-based systems. Working closely with both our InfoSec and Infrastructure teams, you’ll maintain high availability and ensure robust data protection standards. Your expertise will drive the adoption of emerging technologies and support the evolving needs of our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership and management of Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
- Administration of VMware ESXi, Windows Servers, storage systems, DNS, and PKI.
- Partnering with Information Security to implement best practices in configuration and security hardening.
- Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, including collaboration with third-party vendors as needed.
- Mentoring junior team members, sharing your expertise, and fostering growth.
- Evaluating and recommending advancements in technology to enhance system performance, reliability, and security.

About You
Do You Have What It Takes?
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience providing third-line IT support in a medium-sized organisation managing multiple technologies.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 (including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and Power Platform) and Azure.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Mobility & Security Management (Intune, Entra ID).
- Solid experience with VMware ESXi, Windows Server 2019 , DNS, storage systems (e.g., SAN), and PKI.
- A sound understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security, including Zero Trust Network Access.
Location and Work Arrangements:
This role is based in Greater Manchester, with hybrid working arrangements. Although the initial work location is in Stockport, we’ll be relocating to the Manchester Science Park in 2026.
