Job Summary – Statutory Reporting & Data Analyst at LCCA
Join LCCA and play a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate data reporting, driving institutional governance, compliance, and the success of a diverse student community. This key analytical position supports LCCA’s regulatory reporting needs, institutional performance monitoring, and data governance strategy.
As Statutory Reporting & Data Analyst, you will safeguard the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of institutional data used for statutory submissions and performance analysis. Working collaboratively with the Head of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics & Reporting, you will manage complex regulatory returns and deliver insights that guide institutional decision-making.
You’ll work closely with teams across Registry, Admissions, academic departments, and central data functions to ensure that data governance processes support regulatory standards, institutional goals, and shared accountability.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Statutory Data Returns
- Prepare and oversee regulatory submissions, including HESA Data Futures, HESES, and Graduate Outcomes returns.
- Verify the accuracy, validation, and timeliness of regulatory data submissions.
- Maintain audit trails and documentation for transparency and compliance.
Data Quality and Compliance
- Monitor the integrity and accuracy of institutional datasets used in regulatory reporting.
- Ensure alignment with compliance requirements from regulatory bodies, including the Office for Students (OfS).
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, working closely with Registry, Admissions, and academic teams.
Reporting and Performance Analysis
- Produce detailed management information and institutional performance reports for senior decision-makers.
- Analyze metrics linked to TEF, league tables, and OfS B3 indicators, focusing on continuation, progression, and graduate outcomes.
- Provide actionable insights for institutional performance oversight and regulatory preparedness.
Data Systems and Analysis
- Extract, analyze, and validate student data using institutional systems and tools.
- Contribute to developing automated reporting processes where applicable.
- Coordinate with the central Data & Analytics team to ensure standardization with institutional data governance frameworks.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience managing statutory or regulatory data returns in the higher education sector.
- Strong analytical abilities to handle complex datasets.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and robust data validation skills.
- Experience producing management reports for senior stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of data quality, governance, and regulatory compliance.
Desirable Criteria
- Familiarity with HESA reporting frameworks, including Data Futures.
- Knowledge of OfS metrics and B3 indicators.
- Experience with SQL, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
- Understanding of student information systems and wider higher education data environments.
