About Us
The Strategic Development and Delivery team is integral to our commitment to shaping the University’s future. Operating in collaboration with key stakeholders across UEL, we use our sector expertise and institutional insight to deliver on the University’s ambitious vision for 2028 and beyond.

The Role
We’re seeking a Statutory Returns Officer to work at the heart of our organisation, playing a essential role in producing high-quality statutory data returns that meet compliance standards. Using your expertise in data tools and technologies, you’ll build comprehensive institutional reports by leveraging the University’s diverse data sources and ensuring quality and accuracy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working collaboratively within a team to deliver statutory data returns.
  • Identifying and utilising diverse data sources to fulfil statutory requirements.
  • Merging datasets to optimise insights and maximise impact.
  • Engaging stakeholders across UEL to build a shared understanding of statutory obligations, ensuring data quality is prioritised at all times.

About You
We’re looking for a passionate and driven Statutory Data Analyst to contribute to delivering exceptional data management solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, values collaboration, and is excited by the opportunity to shape how data is managed and utilised across the University.

We’re looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret and manage complex datasets.
  • Proven experience handling statutory or regulatory data.
  • Confidence in working across departments, including IT, academic faculties, and external organisations.
  • A solution-focused mindset, embracing technology, innovation, and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to advise, influence, and explain effectively.
