LSHTM is currently in the market for a Strategic Executive Officer (Research) to deliver top-tier strategic support to the institution’s Pro-Director for Research & Academic Development, Professor Caroline Relton. The position represents an outstanding opportunity, calling for an individual to catalyze the implementation of LSHTM’s strategic research objectives, as well as to reinforce the growth of academic careers at the school, all within the framework of the LSHTM’s Strategy spanning from 2022 to 2027. The appointee will play a pivotal role in the advancement of strategic goals, offering expert counsel to the Pro-Director, advocating on their behalf, and crafting detailed briefs, communications, and reports. Additionally, the role involves executing data analysis and visualization tasks tailored for the Pro-Director.

The candidate for this role should manifest a readiness to support the entire range of the Pro-Director’s portfolio concerning Research and Academic Development. Additionally, there will be an expectation to work in close coordination with varied departments such as the Strategic Research Office, the Associate Deans for Research, as well as with teams from Finance, HR, Strategic Planning, and the Executive Office, synergizing with other departments and roles as the situation demands.

This full-time role spans 35 hours per week (1 FTE) on a permanent contract. Remuneration is set within the Professional Services salary scale Grade 6, ranging from £43,947 to £49,908 each year, inclusive of London Weighting. This appointment will adhere to LSHTM’s service terms and conditions, with a yearly leave allowance of 30 working days for full-time staff, adjusted pro rata for partial employment, and inclusive of discretionary “Wellbeing Days.” Eligibility for Pension Scheme membership is provided. Situated in London, the role is stationed at LSHTM and aligns with a hybrid work model, blending in-office presence at Keppel Street, London with remote work.
