About the Role

We are thrilled to invite applications for the position of Student Enrolment Manager within Leeds City College’s Outstanding Adult & Community department, a division that has earned recognition from Ofsted as Outstanding in May 2022 and February 2025. Our team is deeply committed to delivering exceptional education and support services to adult learners and fostering community growth.

As Student Enrolment Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing staff and processes that ensure streamlined student enrolment and support fund services. This leadership position will be instrumental in driving positive student experiences, maintaining data integrity, and fostering continuous improvement.

The Adult & Community department provides a diverse array of courses tailored to learners aged 19 and above. Offerings include part-time vocational courses, Access to Higher Education programs, and leisure courses that promote personal and professional growth. Operating across multiple campuses in Leeds, the department strives for excellence in adult education.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Enrolment Processes: Manage staff and systems to deliver effective student enrolment services while ensuring data accuracy and quality.
  • Team Leadership: Develop, coach, and inspire a multi-site team to work collaboratively and deliver outstanding service.
  • Enhance Student Experience: Ensure smooth, professional enrolment processes that improve the overall experience for learners.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the directorate and broader institution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously refine enrolment and support fund processes to align with organisational objectives.
  • Team Alignment: Provide expert leadership to ensure staff are adhering to institutional standards and delivering to the highest level.

About You

We are seeking a motivated and experienced leader with a passion for adult education, strong administrative skills, and a focus on service excellence:

  • Qualifications: A professional qualification at Level 3 or above, alongside GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or equivalent.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in IT systems and tools commonly used in administrative and educational environments.
  • Relevant Experience: Previous management experience in educational support settings (e.g., schools, academies, further education colleges, adult learning programs).
  • Team Development: Proven track record in managing and coaching small teams to adopt collaborative and student-centred work approaches.
  • Data Proficiency: Confidence working within matrix management systems and using reporting tools to manage and record student information.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making skills, coupled with self-management and a commitment to continuous growth and innovation.
