The Inns of Court Council (COIC) operates as a charitable entity committed to furthering education in the realm of law enforcement and practice by fostering excellence in advocacy and upholding professional conduct standards among barristers. These objectives are pursued through the Inns of Court College of Advocacy (ICCA), which handles educational initiatives, and the Bar Tribunals and Adjudication Service (BTAS), which focuses on professional standards.

Bar Training Program

The ICCA offers a groundbreaking Bar Training Program, a fundamental requirement for those aspiring to become barristers. Designed to be more flexible, accessible, and cost-effective, the program maintains stringent quality benchmarks. The initiative involves a non-profit, two-phased Bar Course, acclaimed for its progressive admission policies aimed at assembling a varied group of students. The online curriculum delivers academic material, paving the way to a practical skills-based segment taught in person.

Position Available: Student Planning and Data Manager

The ICCA is in search of a qualified individual to hold the position of Student Planning and Data Manager, who will be in charge of all aspects of student data—its collection, organization, strategizing, and reporting. The role includes the following responsibilities:

– Guarantee the punctual and precise submission of the ICCA’s regulatory and additional data returns.
– Leading the initiative to place data at the core of ICCA’s strategies, providing staff with necessary data, analysis, and commentary for informed decision-making.
– Contributing significantly to student forecasting, tracking the rate at which students advance through the adaptable course.
– Management and supervision of the ICCA’s application and student systems—encompassing data imports, report generation and analysis, system upkeep, and enhancement.

Key Duties:

The Student Planning and Data Manager is tasked with:

– Overseeing the Student Data Officer, ensuring staff motivation and development while managing team duties and adhering to schedules.
– Coordinating the gathering of regulatory data returns as mandated by various entities and refining associated processes.
– Collaborating with team members for superior data collection and upkeep, staying vigilant to changes in data requirements, with proactive measures for facilitating necessary staff actions.
– Overseeing the management and evolution of student information and application systems, fostering continuous improvement through robust vendor relationships.
– Responsibility for compiling and distributing detailed data reports and analysis for both standard and special requests, customizing output to meet the specific needs of recipients.
– Spearheading recruitment and admission data analysis, using data-driven strategies for decision-making to fulfill ICCA’s commitment to student diversity and excellence.
– Acting as the leading authority on student data, presenting intricate management information to senior staff and committees in an understandable format.
– Conducting and monitoring surveys related to staff, students, and other groups to enhance ICCA’s stakeholder engagement and foster a culture of ongoing enhancement and honest self-evaluation.

Compensation Package:

– Annual salary of £50,000
– 25 days of paid leave plus public holidays
