Job Opportunity at the de Havilland Campus, Hatfield: Student Records Administrator

Position Details:

– Full-time equivalent (FTE): 1.0, based on a 37-hour workweek
– Holiday Entitlement: 25 days on a pro-rata basis, in addition to all standard public holidays and an extra 4 days owing to our office closure from Christmas to New Year
– Job Location: de Havilland Campus, Hatfield
– Hybrid Working Option: Following a training period, the option for regular home-based work within the UK is available, thanks to our flexible hybrid work arrangements.

About the Academic Registry:

The Academic Registry, a key strategic business unit at the University, offers comprehensive support ranging from student inquiries to the awarding of degrees. In collaboration with our Schools of Study and external agencies, we provide essential management information to aid in business planning and development. An exciting role has opened up for a dedicated administrator within our expanding de Havilland Hub team.

Job Responsibilities:

In the role of Student Records Administrator, you will handle various administrative tasks to support specialist functions within the Hub. Expect to be dynamic, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service. Your expertise will grow within your area of specialty, and you’ll lend support to colleagues, students, and managerial staff. This will include duties such as preparing data and reports, note-taking, data entry, and the careful management of records that are audit-sensitive.

You will join a central team and engage with various contacts within and outside of the Hub. Your role will also involve assisting at significant University events throughout the year.

Requirements for the Role:

– Prior administrative experience within a complex environment is essential; experience within higher education is preferred.
– Numeracy, literacy, and a strong proficiency with IT are obligatory. This includes Microsoft Office, database management, and web communications tools such as MS Teams.
– A systematic, detail-oriented approach capable of handling a diverse workload and adhering to strict deadlines. A high level of confidentiality is required.
– The ability to work well within a team is necessary, alongside the initiative to operate independently.
– The applicant should be eager to embrace continuous improvement and display a ‘can-do’ attitude.

Qualifications:

– A minimum qualification of A-levels or equivalent, or substantial relevant professional work experience.
