POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent of the Systems and Data Manager position will be key in advancing the Institute’s operations by leveraging data insights and refining business processes and technological infrastructures. This individual will furnish upper management across various departments with crucial support in producing reports pertinent to personnel and student recruitment, as well as offer data analysis for ongoing enhancements. Furthermore, they will undertake responsibilities in product oversight and resolution of issues related to the Institute’s systems. Through detailed analysis and trend-spotting, the Manager will deliver vital information to all principal parties involved.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND TASKS:
– Attain proficiency in the Institute’s systems and propagate best practices among team members.
– Spearhead the deployment of new systems, coordinating closely with supplier account managers.
– Oversee staff training programs for new systems, imparting specialist advice and guidance while developing instructional materials.
– Provide assistance in optimizing system usage for users and management.
– Record and solve system complications directly or through coordination with supplier account managers.
– Confer with supplier account managers about necessary enhancements or new features, keeping abreast of forthcoming upgrades.
– Monitor the integrity of systems data, ensuring precision, and manage data inputs as needed.
– Handle data import/export, tidying, and manipulation to deliver insights to key stakeholders.
– Construct and manage data dashboards for streamlined access to information.
– Oversee data collection, storage, and retrieval, adhering to legislative standards.
– Sanitize and consolidate data from multiple sources, resolving discrepancies.
– Design, administer, and report on surveys.
– Catalog and archive data records suitably.
– Seek out areas for data-driven enhancements to support broader analysis needs.
– Track and report on processes, systems, and practices regarding data usage.
– Identify process enhancement opportunities, proposing upgrades to the Head of Operations.
– Collaborate extensively with team members and institute-wide contacts.
– Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the Institute’s services for more effective stakeholder collaboration.
– Train department staff in systems usage to boost independence.
– Generate comprehensive reports, spotlighting trends and issues as requested by senior leaders.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
– Bachelor’s degree.
– Further or equivalent education in data analytics or a related field.
– Proficiency in software relevant to this specialization.
– Strong IT, CRM systems, and database skills.
– Knowledge of and experience in the Higher Education Sector.
– Capability to understand and apply relevant guidelines.
– Familiarity with data analysis and operational metrics.
– Prior experience in a related role.
– Background in training individuals on system utilization and data handling.
– Experience with Higher Education Virtual Learning Environments such as Moodle/Blackboard.
