About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity to join a committed and collaborative team in supporting and enhancing the University’s finance-based IT systems. As a key member of the team, you will focus on supporting and developing Cardiff University’s Financial Systems, with a particular emphasis on Oracle EBS, while delivering expert advice, guidance, and technical support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Specifying, designing, developing, integrating, testing, and documenting large or complex systems. You will ensure that design standards, methods, and tools align with enterprise and solution architectures and are applied effectively.
- Reviewing the design of systems created by others, ensuring the selection of appropriate technologies, efficient resource use, and seamless system integration. You will contribute to policies for architecture component selection and undertake impact analysis on major design options while managing associated risks.
- Balancing various requirements, including functional, service quality, and system management needs, within system design.
- Designing user/system interfaces, including validation processes, error correction procedures, processing rules, and security and audit controls. You will also assess associated risks and specify recovery routines and contingency measures.
- Assisting with the translation of logical designs into physical systems.
- Maintaining application support processes, ensuring adherence to agreed procedures for request handling. You will leverage application management tools to investigate problems, collect performance data, and prepare reports.
