Context:
Every 180 seconds, someone in the UK is diagnosed with dementia—a challenging, progressive condition that can profoundly impact affected families. Dementia affects half of us in our lifetime, whether through personal experience or as caregivers. Dementia UK is the charity specializing in dementia nursing and provides invaluable support. Our Admiral Nurses give free, specialized advice and understanding, aiding families in providing the best possible care for their loved ones.
Job Overview:
As a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Support Officer at Dementia UK, embrace the chance to collaborate with a focused team in enhancing the lives of families dealing with dementia through Admiral Nurses’ learning journeys.
Working with our Academy Coordinator and team, your role is crucial in improving the Admiral Nurse Academy’s Blackboard learning management system. Your responsibility will be to design and construct engaging online courses and modules, beginning with conceptual structure to comprehensive storyboarding, including content from the Academy Team, interactive activities, and evaluations. Utilize digital tools like Articulate, Vyond, and Padlet to develop immersive content and ensure online programs are designed to assist Admiral Nurses in achieving learning outcomes and personal growth objectives.
The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of learning management systems and online learning digital tools, with experience in online education or training. You should communicate effectively, thrive in a deadline-oriented production setting, and possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
If you’re passionate about making a meaningful impact on those affected by dementia, we invite you to join us.
