We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead, manage, and oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Cancer Survival Group’s (CSG) web resources and administrative databases. This critical role, based within the Department of Non-communicable Disease Epidemiology, will involve supporting the work of Professor Michel Coleman and Professor Claudia Allemani to ensure the accessibility, accuracy, and efficient management of the CSG’s research outputs.

Collaborating with DELL Technologies, the successful candidate will design and implement interactive and user-friendly web pages, offering customized access to the Group’s research outcomes and a publicly available repository of over 28,000 lifetables for net survival analysis.

Applicants must hold a degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related discipline and demonstrate significant experience in database development and maintenance in a professional context. The role also includes developing tools for monitoring and analyzing web usage. Strong technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to enhancing data and web processes are critical to success in this position. This is a full-time, fixed-term position (35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE), available immediately and running until 31 August 2027, with the possibility of extension subject to funding. The post is funded by Cancer Research UK. The annual salary will be based on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 5, ranging from £39,984 to £45,728 (pro rata) inclusive of London Weighting. The role is subject to LSHTM terms and conditions of service, and benefits include 30 working days of annual leave (pro rata for part-time staff), discretionary “Wellbeing Days,” and Pension Scheme membership. The position is based in London at LSHTM.
