The IT department at the Pamplin College of Business is hiring a talented Web Solutions Developer experienced in designing and maintaining user-centric front-end interfaces for web applications. The role aims to create accessible, mobile-friendly, and visually appealing user experiences that adhere to university branding and usability guidelines. Key responsibilities include gathering customer requirements and translating them into deliverable tasks, designing dynamic web UI components, and developing data visualizations and reports to support the college’s strategic focus on data-driven decision-making. The position also involves implementing and managing UI testing frameworks to ensure consistent front-end functionality.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of IT – Applications & Data Services, the Web Solutions Developer will collaborate with stakeholders to improve and sustain the college’s online presence. This role requires coordinating with the Assistant Director to seamlessly integrate front-end components with back-end systems and data processes for optimal performance. The ideal candidate will have expertise in front-end development, UI/UX design practices, no-code/low-code reporting solutions, and Agile project management methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in web development.
- Proficiency in creating modern, accessible, and cross-browser web pages using current standards and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Solid scripting skills to interact with APIs and dynamic data sources for web front ends.
- Ability to follow general project management principles, plan tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and deliver quality results aligned with requirements.
- Familiarity with code repositories and version control systems.
- Knowledge of accessibility and compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Experience using common front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., Bootstrap, DevExpress, jQuery).
- Exposure to no-code/low-code platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform) for building forms, workflows, and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven proficiency in developing web pages that adhere to WCAG success criteria, with experience in using web accessibility testing tools.
- Background in configuring and automating web application UI testing tools and frameworks.
- Expertise in designing data reports and visualizations using tools such as Power BI or DevExpress.
- Experience developing in Git workflows and leveraging Agile project management processes.
- Familiarity with web programming languages and technologies (e.g., ASP.NET Core).
Additional Details
- Overtime Status: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime).
- Appointment Type: Restricted.
- Salary Range: $60,000–$70,000 annually.
- Hours Per Week: 40 hours.
