Windows Platform and Application Tester

About the Role
The University of Warwick is seeking a skilled Windows Platform and Application Tester to assist in the migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring a smooth, secure, and efficient transition across applications and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, validate, and deploy applications and systems for Windows 11 in a secure and optimized environment.
  • Conduct requirements analysis to assess application and system readiness for Windows 11.
  • Build and configure Windows 11 systems, ensuring compatibility with drivers and hardware.
  • Develop detailed test plans and scripts for manual and automated testing of Windows platforms and associated applications.
  • Execute a wide range of testing, including functional, integration, and system testing, to ensure application compatibility and system stability.
  • Manage the defect lifecycle by documenting issues, collaborating with stakeholders for resolution, and conducting retests as required.
  • Test and validate core applications and user profiles to ensure a seamless migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
  • Create and maintain task sequences and automation scripts for efficient system builds and rollouts.
  • Support the configuration of group policies, user profiles, and critical applications.
  • Work closely with cross-functional IT teams to prepare for deployment and ensure user readiness.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A proven track record of success in a similar role is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Intune, SCCM, and Windows 10/11 is a must.
  • Experience within the Higher Education (HE) sector or large Public Sector organizations would be an advantage.

Role Details:

  • Rate: £300 per day (Inside IR35)
  • Location: 2 days per week on campus (Thursday and one other day to be confirmed)
  • Duration: 2-month assignment, starting ASAP
