In the role of Application Support Analyst at the University of Nottingham, you will integrate with a dedicated team focused on the maintenance and operation of our comprehensive, global services that support and supply data for the university’s core business functions, adhering to our expected high standards.
In this position, you will be tasked with backing business applications, addressing and resolving incidents and problems, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to enhance and maintain the performance of live services, and conducting detailed analysis to ascertain and rectify the root causes of intricate technical issues. Your responsibilities will include acting as a guardian of the application landscape, participating in daily operations briefings, and contributing insights during problem management discussions.
We’re looking for someone with a substantial background in delivering secondary level technical support within intricate IT settings, acquainted with a diverse assortment of operating systems, web applications, and database technologies. Your communication skills must be outstanding, with the capability to effectively relay technical information to a non-technical audience, alongside a talent for guiding others through sophisticated troubleshooting ventures. Familiarity with overseeing enterprise-scale Finance or HR applications would be a considerable advantage.

We are seeking a candidate with an HNC qualification or equivalent, complemented by a substantial record of related professional experience. Holding an ITIL certification and experience working within a formalized ITIL framework will set you apart. This opening is for a full-time (36.25 hours per week) role on a fixed-term basis for 2 years. Part-time commitments (minimum 29 hours per week) are also welcomed; kindly specify your preferred part-time hours in your application. We are open to discussing job-sharing arrangements.
