Job Description: Assistant Director of Digital Marketing & Revenue

Position Overview:
As a key member of the Revenue & Digital Innovation team, the Assistant Director of Digital Marketing & Revenue will drive revenue-generating initiatives for Virginia Tech Athletics. This role will focus on managing digital platforms (email, web, mobile app, etc.) and contributing to digital marketing efforts for one assigned ticketed sport — such as Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, or Baseball.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with other team members and Athletics staff to oversee content creation, content distribution, and evaluate the success of various digital campaigns. You will ensure that all content aligns with Virginia Tech’s brand standards, strategic goals, and delivers measurable results. This position reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director of Revenue.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation and management of digital platforms, including email marketing, websites, and mobile applications.
  • Develop and execute digital marketing strategies for an assigned ticketed sport with a focus on increasing revenue, fan engagement, and brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with teams across the department to create, distribute, and analyze digital marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain alignment with university-wide brand standards and organizational goals.
  • Monitor and measure success metrics for digital campaigns, ensuring optimization and growth.
  • Flexibly manage work hours to meet deadlines, including occasional nights and weekends in support of athletics events and initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, sports management, or a related field with relevant experience, or a master’s degree in a comparable field.
  • Demonstrated skills in attention to detail, copywriting, and editing.
  • Experience in developing and managing marketing automation and digital advertising campaigns.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work non-standard hours when required, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in platforms such as Eloqua, WMT, or Vozzi (or comparable tools).
  • Experience working within an NCAA Division I athletics program or professional sports organization.

Appointment Type: Restricted
Pay Band: {lPayScaleID}
Salary: $44,000 annually
Overtime Status: Exempt
Hours: 40 per week, with a requirement to work nights and weekends as needed.
Start Date Review: 6/5/2026
