Department and Role Overview
Canterbury Christ Church University is embarking on an exciting transformation in how it designs and delivers digital services.

As a key member of our newly formed Digital Products team, you will contribute significantly to enhancing the digital experiences that serve students, staff, and the wider university community. Working within a dynamic, collaborative, and multidisciplinary environment, you will help design user-friendly, accessible, and intuitive digital services that improve everyday interactions across the institution.

As the Associate Digital Service Designer, you will play a vital role in refining and continuously improving end-to-end digital services. Using service design, UX methodologies, and customer experience principles, you’ll identify user needs, map journeys, redesign business processes, and develop seamless digital experiences that deliver measurable impact.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals with experience in service design, UX, or customer experience who excel at problem-solving, facilitating workshops, analyzing user insight, and collaborating with business and technical teams. You’ll be adept at engaging with diverse stakeholders and passionate about building user-centred services.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a strong background in applying user-first design principles, conducting user research, and translating insights into tangible service improvements. You’ll have experience working across the full lifecycle of service design and possess the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Journey mapping, service blueprinting, and business process analysis.
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship building.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in higher education or other large, complex organisations.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Qualifications in service design, UX, or customer experience.
