Job Opportunity: Data Insight Officer

Overview
We are seeking a talented Data Insight Officer to revolutionize how Student Services leverages data to amplify student engagement, attendance, and wellbeing. This is a pivotal position that spans multiple services, delivering high-quality analysis to inform leaders about the effectiveness of initiatives, identify areas for support, and drive continuous improvement for the benefit of students.

This is a fixed-term role for two years.


About the Role
As part of the Student Services Operations team, you will:

  • Develop and implement distinctive reporting systems using Power BI to ensure consistent and valuable insights across various Student Services functions.
  • Analyze and process complex datasets to deliver statistical reports and management information, supporting a planned reporting program for the Student Services leadership team.
  • Translate intricate data into clear recommendations, producing and presenting insightful analysis to diverse University stakeholders.
  • Lead on smaller-scale systems and service improvement projects, while contributing your expertise to broader initiatives.

About You
We are looking for someone with a balance of strong technical expertise and effective communication skills to clearly articulate insights.

You should have:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization, with hands-on experience using Power BI, report creation, and data interpretation.
  • A proven ability to draw actionable conclusions and deliver evidence-backed recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative approach and capability to deliver work on schedule and to specification.
