Background

City St George’s has established the Digital Innovation and Transformation Office (DiTO) to accelerate digital transformation across education and research. Reporting to the Associate Director (Digital Transformation Portfolio), the Digital Transformation Project Manager (Education & Student Experience) will lead high-profile projects that drive the adoption of AI-enabled tools, promote digital experimentation, and elevate digital capabilities across the institution. The ultimate goal is to successfully enhance student learning outcomes and experiences in a measurable, sustainable way.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver digital transformation projects focused on education and the student experience, ensuring projects adhere to scope, timelines, budgets, and risk controls.
  • Create and maintain essential project documentation, including PIDs, governance charters, benefits baselines, and RAIDD logs, while regularly reporting progress to portfolio boards.
  • Lead cross-functional agile teams, manage external vendors, and ensure compliance with regulations, including quality, data-protection, and accessibility standards.
  • Oversee the Education-Technology Change & Monitoring pipeline and coordinate adoption efforts with staff and students.
  • Capture lessons learned, present impact data at Digital Transformation Dialogues, and ensure effective handovers to business-as-usual (BAU) support teams.

Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and certification in PRINCE2, AgilePM, or ScrumMaster.
  • Proven track record in managing complex digital-innovation projects, particularly within Higher Education or similarly regulated sectors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AI applications and emerging education technology (EdTech).
  • Expertise in project management, including planning, finance, vendor coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Data-driven approach to benefits realization and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking.
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and dedicated to fostering equality, diversity, and inclusive practices in human-centred design.
