Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) is seeking a highly experienced Director of Digital Products to lead the development and enhancement of its enterprise digital product portfolio. This pivotal role will be instrumental in realizing the University’s digital ambitions and delivering on its broader institutional strategy.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Digital, Technology and Products, the Director of Digital Products will shape and deliver the vision, strategy, and operating model for the University’s digital product landscape. This senior leadership role is integral to the University’s transformative goals, ensuring digital products are strategically aligned, technically robust, and deliver tangible benefits for users and the institution.

As the Director of Digital Products, you will oversee the entire product lifecycle—from discovery and prioritization to delivery, optimization, and eventual retirement. Your work will embed a product-focused approach, fostering continuous improvement and ensuring the delivery of measurable value. Working across a complex digital ecosystem, you’ll establish clear product ownership, create outcome-oriented roadmaps, and implement governance frameworks to guide informed and transparent investment decisions.

This role sits at the nexus of product management, technology, architecture, and business change. You will collaborate closely with academic and professional service leaders to ensure digital solutions enhance user experiences, enable data-driven decision-making, and create sustainable, long-term impact. Additionally, you’ll strengthen commercial oversight by driving effective vendor management, cost efficiency, and return on investment across the product portfolio.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a seasoned leader in digital or product management with a proven track record of leading product-centric transformations in complex organizations. You will have expertise in modern product operating models, including multidisciplinary teams, agile delivery methods, and prioritization driven by evidence and data. A solid understanding of enterprise systems, integration, and architecture principles is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and influencing skills and be adept at engaging senior stakeholders, uniting diverse teams around shared priorities, and conveying complex technical concepts in ways that drive meaningful outcomes.
