Kingston University
About the Role
Kingston University is proud to be the UK’s leading institution for Future Skills, equipping our students for career success through an innovative and progressive model of education. Guided by our inspiring Town House Strategy, which is founded on our expertise in Future Skills education and commitment to pioneering research and knowledge exchange, we are setting the benchmark for the future of higher education.
As one of just 26 universities nationally to hold three Gold Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) ratings, Kingston University is consistently celebrated for its extraordinary performance across a wide range of disciplines, as evidenced by its strong standing in the Guardian University Guide. Through our inclusive and forward-thinking approach, we aim to transform lives, producing graduates and staff recognized for their innovation, knowledge, and skill.
In a rapidly changing society, the expectations placed on university graduates evolve just as quickly. Employers today are looking for individuals who are digitally proficient, adaptable, and capable of solving complex global challenges. Kingston University’s Town House Strategy ensures that our students are equipped with vital Future Skills, while our research, innovation, and collaborations deliver meaningful impact on regional, national, and global levels.
About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking Director of Data Compliance and Evaluation to join our dynamic leadership team. This critical role will ensure that Kingston University meets its statutory responsibilities, upholds the integrity and quality of its data, and fosters institution-wide insight to drive informed decision-making and stronger outcomes.
Reporting directly to the University Secretary, you will lead a skilled and multidisciplinary team focused on statutory data returns, institutional performance, and the student voice. You will work closely with colleagues across the University to ensure timely and accurate delivery of statutory data, effective use of analytics, and a comprehensive framework for analyzing and acting upon student data and insights.
Your vital contributions will shape how data is collected, assessed, and communicated across the institution. By delivering clear, actionable intelligence, you will empower decision-makers, enhance institutional performance, and bolster Kingston University’s reputation — both internally and externally. The role also offers an exciting opportunity to design and implement a more integrated and collaborative operating model, one that cultivates a culture of data-informed decision-making across the University.
Your understanding of regulatory and compliance environments, alongside your in-depth knowledge of how data underpins strong performance in Teaching Excellence Frameworks (TEF) and compliance with Access and Participation Plan (APP) requirements, will be pivotal.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Executive, your input will be instrumental in shaping policy, guiding institutional performance, and promoting an exceptional student experience that fosters outstanding outcomes. This is your chance to join a progressive, inclusive, and dynamic university that is committed to building a brighter and more skilled future for all.
About You
To thrive in this position, you will bring a track record of delivering impactful leadership in the field of data compliance, analytics, or evaluation. You will have the ability to forge productive relationships at all levels of the organization, articulate a clear vision, and ensure buy-in as you enhance Kingston University’s data and insight capabilities. Your expertise will help Kingston remain at the forefront of Future Skills education, supporting decision-making that unlocks transformative potential for students, colleagues, and external partners alike.
