Job Opportunity: ICT Communications Officer
About the Role
Are you a talented communications professional passionate about transforming complex ideas into clear, engaging content? Imperial College London is seeking an ICT Communications Officer to craft and execute impactful communications that inspire and inform staff and students about the digital products, services, and initiatives provided by our Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Division.
As part of a close-knit, collaborative team, you will deliver high-quality, audience-centered communications across multiple platforms. Your work will help highlight key ICT priorities such as cyber security, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and digital transformation, contributing to communications that support one of the world’s leading universities in achieving its Digital Plan and enhancing the experience of its community.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll play a key part in advancing integrated communications and engagement strategies across ICT, ensuring staff and students understand and connect with vital digital services, initiatives, and projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating Content and Campaigns: Develop and deliver tailored communications supporting ICT’s priorities, services, and product launches.
- Simplifying Technical Information: Turn complex technical details into accessible, engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Producing Multimedia Content: Create and commission materials in various formats, including written copy, presentations, videos, and digital or print assets.
- Managing Communications Channels: Maintain ICT’s key channels, such as webpages, SharePoint, and the subscription-based e-newsletter.
- Planning Engagement Activities: Partner with ICT teams and stakeholders to design targeted communications and strategies.
- Advising Communication Strategies: Provide guidance on messaging, campaign planning, channels, and best practices.
- Promoting ICT Initiatives: Support events and promotional activities aligned with ICT’s strategic goals.
- Tracking Success: Monitor engagement metrics and feedback to optimize communications and improve audience experience.
- Advancing Key Initiatives: Contribute to messaging for major ICT projects linked to Imperial’s broader Digital Plan.
This role is perfect for someone comfortable with a balance of tasks—including drafting website updates, developing campaigns, supporting events, and collaborating with stakeholders to tell technical stories in engaging ways.

- Stakeholder Management: Confidence in building productive relationships with varied stakeholders.
- Multichannel Content Creation: Proficiency in developing content across multiple platforms, especially digital channels.
- Technical Simplification Skills: The ability to interpret complex or technical information and communicate it in engaging and audience-appropriate formats.
- Tech-Savvy Abilities: Strong IT literacy, including expertise in Microsoft Office applications.
