Principal Systems Development Officer (Systems)

About the Role
The Principal Systems Development Officer (Systems) within the University’s Software Development Department plays a critical role in the expert design, development, and management of integration solutions between the University’s Student Record System (SRS) and various internal and external applications. This position is vital to maintaining seamless data flow throughout the University’s digital ecosystem, directly enhancing the student experience through automated, reliable system connectivity.

The successful candidate will serve as the technical lead for developing system interfaces and data pipelines, leveraging technologies such as SQL, SSRS, and .NET frameworks to create scalable and secure integration architectures. A focus on data integrity and high-performance system communication ensures student data remains synchronised, accurate, and readily accessible whenever needed.

Operating within an Agile Scrum environment, the post holder will work closely with the development team to deliver functional integration components through iterative development cycles. A key objective of the role is to provide a unified data experience across all platforms while embedding robust security measures and ensuring adherence to data protection regulations in every system development initiative.
