University College Birmingham

At University College Birmingham, we are dedicated to transforming lives through career-focused education, exceptional student experiences, and industry-leading financial support. As our institution continues to grow, we’re on the lookout for a Social Media Manager to craft compelling stories, inspire meaningful engagement, and showcase the essence of the student journey across all social platforms.

In this role, you’ll transform concepts into captivating, scroll-stopping content, foster dynamic online communities, and ensure our digital presence is energetic, inclusive, and thoroughly student-focused. You’re someone who not only spots emerging trends early but also acts decisively to create impact by turning insights into action.

Leading a team of three, including a videographer, your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

Social Strategy – Develop and execute an ambitious, data-driven strategy to enhance engagement, boost brand recognition, and support student recruitment efforts.
Channel Management – Oversee all student-facing social media platforms, ensuring they are consistently populated with creative, inclusive, and shareable content.
Integrated Campaigns – Align organic content and paid media strategies to maximise impact, reach, and cohesion across key channels.
Performance & Reputation – Conduct regular audits, analyse data, track performance, and identify risks or opportunities to optimise effectiveness and protect the university’s reputation.

We’ll give you the flexibility to experiment, the resources to innovate, and the platform to create a vibrant digital presence that mirrors the diversity, ambition, and energy of our community.

If you are a skilled strategist, creative storyteller, data-driven analyst, and adept community-builder all rolled into one, this is your opportunity to shape how future and current students experience and connect with University College Birmingham.
