Strategic Planning Analyst
Grade: SG7 | Department: Strategic Planning | Contract Type: Fixed-term until July 2027

The University of Greenwich is advancing its efforts to utilize data and insights to drive informed decision-making across the institution. A key focus is on strengthening performance monitoring, planning, and reporting mechanisms to enhance overall effectiveness.

The Strategic Planning Analyst will contribute significantly to this mission, delivering high-quality analyses and reports to address critical institutional priorities, including student outcomes, performance monitoring, and improved planning processes.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of a collaborative team, the role will involve:

  • Conducting thorough analyses of strategic datasets, including trends in student continuation, completion, and award outcomes.
  • Providing actionable insights and recommendations to inform decision-making, identifying risks, and highlighting improvement opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining dashboards and reports for stakeholders, ensuring accessibility for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contributing to institutional processes such as student number planning and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) monitoring.
  • Supporting strategic data initiatives with defined analytical deliverables.
  • Ensuring consistency and maintaining comprehensive documentation for all reporting and analyses.
  • Building effective cross-departmental relationships to support collaborative projects and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Applicants are expected to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience in data analysis, analytics, or a Business Intelligence-related role.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly present complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with data to derive insights.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience working within higher education or a similarly complex organization.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, SQL, or similar platforms for data visualization and analysis.
