About the Role
Are you a creative and organized communications professional? This is your chance to help deliver clear, engaging, and timely messaging that enhances the student experience for a global-leading university.

As the Student Communications Officer, your focus will be on preparing and delivering compelling written, visual, and digital content that drives student engagement, milestone awareness, and retention. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in campaign planning, stakeholder collaboration, content creation, and reporting—ensuring our students receive the right information exactly when they need it.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Plan, create, and execute engaging communication campaigns across email, web, digital signage, and social platforms.
  • Work closely with teams across the University to align communication strategies and ensure student success is at the forefront.
  • Leverage automated communication tools and technologies to deliver efficient, segmented, and trackable campaigns.
  • Analyze and report on campaign effectiveness, using data insights to continuously refine and innovate approaches.

This is a 12-month fixed term, full-time position classified as HEW 5 (Higher Education Worker level), located at our Callaghan campus.


About You
We’re looking for someone with a flair for writing and editing who can produce accessible and engaging content tailored for students across various channels. In addition, you’ll need to be organized, adaptable, and collaborative, with a knack for learning and using communication technologies effectively.

Your ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders will be key to your success, helping you gather the right information to create impactful communications that support the best student experience possible.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • A degree in communications/marketing (or a related discipline), OR an associate diploma with at least two years of relevant professional experience, OR a combination of equivalent education and administration experience.
  • Proven success in delivering high-quality communications utilizing both traditional and emerging technologies to drive student engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster effective relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver on tight deadlines.
