University of Bedfordshire

We are looking for an experienced and motivated professional to lead the delivery and development of the University’s digital library systems and resources. In this key role, you will act as the system administrator for a range of vital services, including the library management system, cataloguing tools, discovery platforms, journal databases, repositories, and reading list systems. Your work will ensure these services are robust, reliable, and aligned with the needs of our users.

As one of the University’s primary contacts for licensing, compliance, copyright, GDPR, cybersecurity, and supplier terms, you will oversee and support Read and Publish agreements. You will collaborate closely with librarians, research institutes, and external vendors, while also monitoring emerging opportunities and risks associated with the use of AI in the library sector.

Your responsibilities will also include managing digital transformation projects, creating management information dashboards, supporting external reporting requirements (e.g., SCONUL), evaluating digital resource provisions, analyzing usage data, liaising with internal teams, and contributing to committees and working groups.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in library or information management, ideally with professional accreditation (e.g., MCLIP). You should have demonstrated knowledge of digital library systems, procurement processes, research publication frameworks, project management, supplier relations, and stakeholder engagement. Strong communication, analytical skills, and organizational abilities, along with a flexible and user-focused approach, are essential.
